The next morning, enjoy a slow start in Wellington — a charming town just 15 minutes away. Stroll along the small beach, visit the lighthouse, or grab breakfast at one of my favorite hidden gems, Creekside Café. This cozy spot (which also doubles as an Airbnb) serves up locally sourced breakfasts and some of the best coffee in town. If it’s a Saturday, wander through the Wellington Farmers’ Market (8 a.m.–1 p.m.) to meet local makers and pick up a treat or keepsake to remember the day.

Vineyard Proposal : The Grange

For a timeless, wine-country atmosphere, a vineyard like Grange of Prince Edward offers the perfect mix of sophistication and charm. Imagine walking through the rows of vines as the sun starts to set, surrounded by the quiet of nature. This vineyard even has weeping willows, a unique building and a long gravel driveway, all of which make for stunning proposal spots. I can work with the venue to coordinate privacy and the perfect light.

Afterward, you might choose to stay for a sip of wine or a private picnic. Or you might choose to head out to Waupoose Estates Winery, where you can dine overlooking the water with a glass of the County’s best.

Cliffside Cove – Little Bluffs Conservation Area

It’s ideal for couples who want something more remote, a little adventurous, and deeply personal. This setting works especially well for emotive, windswept portraits. It is about a 15-20 minute hike in to reach the cliffs, and a 15 minute walk down to the beach. Make sure to pack bug spray, and water, there is also a fee for parking at this Conservation area.

After the proposal, head into Picton for a refined dinner at The Royal Hotel. Their Garden Room is elegant and intimate, with seasonal, farm-to-table menus and an extensive wine list. In the evening, the light turns warm and golden, and it often feels like you have the whole place to yourselves after 8:30pm. After the proposal, you can take a quiet walk toward the lighthouse, enjoy a few more portraits in the soft fading light, and then head into nearby Bloomfield for a more intimate dinner.
