A Heartfelt Family Session in Prince Edward County | Capturing One Last Summer at the Family Home

When Charlene reached out to ask me if I could photograph their last summer vacay (umm sounding like the summer I turned pretty?) at their family home in Prince Edward County- I of course was thrilled and honored - an immediate yes from me. You see her parents in-laws had poured their heart into this property, re-done the house, curated the lawn, and little magical touches could be seen everywhere. They chose the paint color of the house together, tended the gardens, and had so much love poured into this place. A little slice of heaven in Prince Edward County, overlooking the bay where sailboats, gulls and splashing waves could be seen. When I arrived I felt as if I were stepping into a little secret paradise, one then had so much love poured into it. Charlene explained to me that her In-laws were needing to say goodbye and move into a more manageable property-but it wasn’t just a house to them. It was the place they raised their two children, a place where laughter and memories could be heard echoing through the walls. A place they cherished and loved. They asked me to capture one final session here, a way to preserve this chapter before turning the page. What unfolded was a beautiful hour of walking the property, sharing stories, laughing together, and quietly saying goodbye to a home that had given them so much.

This session was such a meaningful reminder of why I love being a Prince Edward County family photographer. Photography isn’t just about beautiful images, it’s about preserving the places, people, and memories that matter most. Saying goodbye to a family home is never easy, but capturing one final chapter for this family was such an honor. These photographs will forever hold the story of their Prince Edward County haven, a place filled with love, laughter, and countless summers together.
